Today we had Maycie's 4-year-old Dr.'s appointment. She was 37.5 lbs (57%) and 42 1/2" long (84%.) We haven't taken her in since she was 2 so it was fun to see her healthy growth! She also had to get her Kindergarten shots. I didn't tell her that she was getting shots until 1 minute before it happened. It worked out perfectly. She was co-operative until it happened, then she was crying and really sad but soon got over it. We left the Dr.'s office and 5 minutes later we got a call from the medical assistant. She said, "We had an error and gave your kids the wrong shots. Can you come back?" I was dying to say the least. She told us at the beginning that Maycie would get 3 and Jerik would get 2. When she was doing Maycie's 2, we said, "Wait I thought Maycie was supposed to have 3." She assured us that wasn't correct and went on with the shots. Apparently they had switched and gave each of them each other's shots. I am not a fan of shots in the first place, let alone double within 30 minutes of each other. It was quite traumatic. I asked to talk to Dr. Cain before we did anything. We talked to him for about 10 minutes. I was so mad, then crying! I couldn't imagine doing that to my kids again. How awful that is to do it twice! Dr. Cain was really sweet thank goodness! He came in for the 2nd round of shots and helped us hold Maycie down. She was fighting like nothing else. I was bawling listening to her cry and yell, "No Mom don't let them do that! Make them stop! No I want to go home!" We're so happy it's over!

Jerik is obsessed with scriptures. He loves each night when we read them and HAS to have his own. He always points to them while snapping (his favorite trick.) - We sprinkle corn starch on Jerik's bum if he has a diaper rash and each night for some added protection! Well this night, I set the corn starch around the corner of the couch for a minute, then forgot. 5 minutes later when we got up, we found him covered in it! - Jerik turned 18 months a couple of weeks ago. However, I couldn't schedule his appointment until after the new year because I messed up on our insurance and selected the wrong thing. He was so cute and a big boy! He marched right in there and got his weight and height. He weighed 29.8 lbs (87%) and was 34 1/2" long (94%.) We handed him our phone during his shots, perfect idea Daddy! He barely flinched and made a little noise, then went right back to the phone. I am not a fan of shots in the first place, let alone double within 30 minutes of each other. Jerik was just as tough as the first time! - Last picture is of Jerik's "say cheese" face that only a mother could love! Ha Ha!

We now have a 7-year-old at our house. CRAZY! Branson's birthday was on Thursday this year. He HAD to open his presents from us before school because it was killing him. He got a watch from Maycie, checkers from Jerik, and a skateboard from Mom and Dad. His friends at school made him the sweetest cards ever. They all said he is their best friend and they love him. So cute! His party was Friday after school. He invited 8 friends (Ashtyn, Chloe, EJ, Moroni, Keawe, Sam, Kallie, and Natalie) and they all came. We played a lot of fun games. The kids got prizes to pick out if they won. It was so fun this year since the kids were a lot older and more manageable! :) Then we had ice-cream sandwiches and open presents. Branson was spoiled rotton from his friends. The kids all wanted to out back to play tag for the last 15 minutes. Right about 4:00 Branson's poor friend Natalie started screaming like you wouldn't believe. I ran out there and she was jumping up and down screaming. I saw the blood running down her face and dripping on her shirt and on the ground. I couldn't even find where it was coming from. I had AJ grab me paper towels and gauze to stop the bleeding. Her Mom had just got out of the car to pick her up and heard her screaming. She came in and was really scared! I knew right away she needed stitches. I was talking to her Dad on the phone and told him I didn't think it could be any deeper than it was and they'd probably have to do 2 layers of stiches. He was there in about 10 minutes and they left for Instacare. The entire cut was almost 2 inches long and all the way down to her skull! They stitched up inside the cut and then put 6 staples over that. It was horrific and we're all so grateful she's ok. Apparently she was climbing on the wall and fell while knocking a brick over on top of her head. Definitely a birthday none of us will ever forget. At 5:00 we had a family party for Branson. We had Grandma April, "Grandma" Charlene, Brayden, Kayla, and Stephanie. We had Papa Murphy's Pizza, Oh Henry's, played with all the new toys, and a few games. Good times! Branson also got cards in the mail from Grandma Sue and Larry, and Great Grandma and Grandpa Ashcroft. He is sure he's the richest kid in the world. Side note... We are taking balloons and cards to Natalie today. Branson wanted to put one of his dollars in the card for her. He is sweet and thoughtful!
