Dentist

So I have to blog/scrapbook about going to the dentist. It is something that we do religiously every 6 months. Since we have insurance I feel like we are throwing money away if we don't use our check-ups. Our kids have learned to really enjoy it and look forward to it. When we were driving there today Branson was giddy about it! I think it is so fun because the dentist and hygienist are the BEST. They are the some of the nicest people in the world. It is like big party every time we go in. Branson went first, then Maycie. They got to pick out their flavor of fluoride. When it was my turn Maycie was sitting on my lap watching me. She said, "Mom do you get the grape stuff like me?" The hygienist said, "No Maycie Mom and Dad don't get that. It is only for kids." She looked up at her and said, "Well that is not fair." HA HA! I seriously laughed out loud so hard. It technically isn't fair. Cute girl!

Jerik - 3 months

I need to stop at the Doctor's office and get a weight check this week but I am guessing Jerik is about 18 lbs. He is SO fun. He still loves to be swaddled. The minute he starts fussing, I swaddle him up and he is usually asleep within 5 minutes. He falls asleep in someone's arms, in his swing, in the car, in his bouncy chair, etc. I like that he will fall asleep anywhere. I am sure I need to get him used sleeping only in his bed and falling asleep on his own. But I also like that he will fall asleep anywhere. And I can't stand him crying. It's too sad. Besides, last night he went 7 1/2 hours straight through so I think we're ok. Some of Jerik's nicknames are Jerik Berik; Doody Froody; Jerik Boy.
Here is Jerik doing one of his favorite things.... Sitting in his bouncy being swaddled. He is kind of splotchy because he was just choking on his spit up.

Here is Jerik doing one of his other favorite things.... Playing with his cow toy. He gets so excited when I lay him down on it.

Here is Branson about 4 months old.... It is amazing to us how identical they look.

Maycie's burn

I was curling Maycie's hair for church in the morning. I was on the last curl when all at once she decided she was done. She wanted to go watch a cartoon and jumped off the stool, grabbed the cord in front of her and threw it back. The curling iron slipped off that piece of hair and her hand went right back into the curling iron. I felt really bad for her because I know how bad those things hurt! For days!! The next day she said, "Do you want to touch it? It doesn't hurt." It reminded me of something Grandpa Brian would say. He always tries to get people to touch his sores.

Day 2:

Sleepovers!!

On Friday, September 17, 2011, Maycie had her first sleepover away from home without Mom or Dad. She wasn't scared at all I think because she had Branson. Grandma April picked them up abut 4:00. They had been waiting out front with their car seats and bag of clothes for 30 minutes because they were so excited. They stopped at a few stores, then went to Grandma and Grandpa's. They played, watched a movie, at dinner, then got ready for bed around 9:00. Maycie kept coming out saying, "Branson is laughing and waking me up." So apparently they weren't asleep until about 10:00. Maycie did have a nap that afternoon so I think that is part of the reason. In the morning they went to the Farmer's Market, swimming, then hiking on the red hill. By the afternoon, when someone would mention Mom or Dad, Maycie's lip would quiver. She called me to tell me that she misses me so much. We missed them too but I have to admit that it was a nice break. AJ got off work at 4:30 Friday afternoon. So we went shopping and to dinner. It was nice to be able to finish a thought and a sentence without interruptions. And Jerik had a break from 100 kisses each hour. Instead he got 20 kisses each hour! :) Here are some pictures of them at the red hill with Jaynee. Jaynee lives across the street from my Dad's house and loves to play with our kids. And we love her too!! I was there a few hours after she was born and have watched her grow up. I kind of feel like she is partly mine!

Raspberries

Aunt Karen and Uncle Darrel have a raspberry farm in Enterprise. We've been dying to go up and pick raspberries. There were some finally ready so we headed up there. We took our "grandma" Charlene with us. It was so fun to have her company and she loved spending time with the kids. We got 4 baskets of raspberries and a ton of Enterprise corn. YUM!! When we got home, we made jam and froze corn. Here are some pictures of our fun day...
