Branson is oh so sweet!!!

So this morning was not a good one. I was up 7 different times throughout the night. Only 2 were from Jerik, and the other 5 from everyone else. The sleep deprivation hit me and I couldn't shake it. I felt like I was glued to the bed and had to pull myself off it at 6:30 when all 3 kids needed me. I felt like my legs weren't strong enough to walk, I didn't have the energy to talk, and it was all I could do to not throw up. I am pretty sure all Moms can relate to this feeling. Branson said, "Mom why won't you talk?" I said, "Because I didn't get any sleep and I don't feel good." So he got Maycie and took her in the kitchen. Then in they come with these cute pictures for me. The top one from Maycie (with Branson's help.) And the bottom one from Branson. He even gave me earrings! I am gorgeous. :) After they gave me their pictures, he got Maycie breakfast and helped her start to get ready. Thank you Branson for making my day a little brighter!! I love you buddy!!

Maycie's first day of joy school

I am doing joy school for Maycie this year. I wasn't going to do two years before Kindergarten like I did with Branson, but we have a good group, and are only doing it once a week, so I decided to do it. I'm glad I did. She has so much fun and is ready for something. She kept talking about having all her friends over today. It will be good for her to look forward to something each week. The kids are all so cute. Here is my little princess very excited!

Sleepovers & Tuachan

Branson had his first ever sleepover on August 7th. My Grandma and Grandpa Ashcroft came down for Jerik's blessing that weekend. We had gone over to swim at the pool on Saturday. When it was time to go, Branson really wanted to stay the night there with them. We talked about it and decided he could sleep there Sunday night. He was so excited! We all kind of wondered if he'd get nervous. My Grandma kept saying, "I don't think it is going to be as much fun as he thinks it is." But Sunday night around 6:00 they left. We didn't see or hear from them again until the next morning when they came back around 10:00. He had so much fun. I think it is just the whole hotel experience that we all love. And... my Grandma and Grandpa rock!!!

On August 17th, Branson had his second sleepover. Grandma April picked up him, then Shaylee after work. They had dinner, played a couple of games, then headed for Tuachan. They got to see The Little Mermaid and pick out one treat. We were all jealous they got to see Little Mermaid. Hopefully they will bring it back when Jerik and Maycie are a little older. Branson picked popcorn, and Shaylee picked a pretzel with cheese. The next morning Grandma made pancakes then had to go into work for a few hours. Branson and Grandpa played Chutes and Ladders "a half of a dozen times." After Grandma got home from work, they all went swimming for a few hours. Branson had a fun time with Grandma and just loves her. They have really become good buddies lately.

KiNdErGaRtEn

My little boy just left me today for Kindergarten. I am pretty sure I was more nervous than he was. I just have a hard time with milestones. I had to swallow back my tears so he wasn't sad too. Branson was very excited to go to school and ride the bus. I called the bus yard and got the kindergarten drop off changed to my street. It will be so nice not to worry about Jerik's sleeping schedule to pick him up at noon. Branson has been practicing getting ready all by himself. He has 5 things to do each morning: make his bed, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, and do hair. He is very proud that he can do this by himself each morning. I am also proud of him. There have been times that my Dad has told me that he is proud of me. I don't think I have really understood the feeling of a proud parents as much as I do now. Branson is really a good boy and tries to do his best. He has the desire to do what is right. Primary teachers always tell me how good he is. I am so proud of you my Branson boy!

Here is Branson with one of his best friends Ashtyn. They have played together since they were babies. It is so fun to see how much each of them have grown over the years. I am glad Branson has such good friends and hope it always stays that way.

Maycie's birthday

Maycie turned 3 today! We love this little girl so much. She steals the heart of most people she meets. Her voice is the cutest thing! She is so smart and good and so many things. I guess she has to be in order to keep up with big brother Branson! I want my kids to wait until their 4th birthday before they have a real friend party. So this year we just did a family party. She wanted to invite the neighbor kids she plays with each day, and technically they are related so we said that was ok. She had Grandma April, "Grandma" Charlene, Cousins Brayden & Kayla, and Ashtyn & Camden. We went to the Sienna Hills Park for cake and to cool down in the water.

Branson got Maycie a backpack for school but was even more excited about the special card he made her.

Maycie also received a birthday card with a "ticket" from Great Grandpa Halversen; A birthday card, crayons, notebook, and jacket from Great Grandma and Grandpa Ashcroft; And the cutest princess singing card and earrings in the mail from Grandma Sue and Larry. We appreciate everyone making our little girlie girl's birthday so special for her!

*2 months*

Jerik had his 2 month check up and is growing fast. When we first laid him on the scale he was 15lbs. 3 oz. When I picked him up, I realized he had a big poopy diaper and had blown out up the back of his shirt. So I changed him and we got a "naked" weigh-in. So officially he is 14lbs. 14oz. (98%) and 24" long (86%.) Branson was 97% so Jerik even beat him. It is torture packing him around in his car seat. I try really hard not to do it more than I have to. But I still have a long way to go before he can sit up in a shopping card. He always gives us great big Jerik smiles and tells us stories. When we leave the room, he is kind of sad and looks for someone. As soon as someone comes back in the room, he is happy. He usually falls asleep for his first nap in his bouncy chair watching me get ready. One of the biggest things that makes Jerik different than our other kids, is that he won't take a binky. Every now and then we can get him to suck on it but not very often. I love this sweet Jerik so much I can't stand it. I want to kiss those yummy cheeks all day. 3 times this week he has slept 10 hours straight. We are getting him more on a schedule that makes things even better. Some of his nick-names are: Great Big Guy, Jerik Man, and Buddy Buddy.

His name shall be known as... Jerik Brian Schmutz

Today was Jerik's blessing. He was such a good baby during the blessing and the whole day. AJ gave him a nice blessing while I was reminded about the awesome husband I have. I will never take for granted having the priesthood in our house. Great Grandma and Grandpa Ashcroft traveled down at the last minute to be there. There was also Grandpa (Brian) Ashcroft, Charlene Rodgers, Darryl and Karen Humphries. We can't forget AJ's friend Cal, the Limb family, and our friends in the ward. A special day for our sweet special boy!

A little smile....

And I'm done!

Our first "family" picture

Great G & G with the kids.

There is no greater example of a man showing love to his wife than my Grandpa. There is not a day that he hasn't told my Grandma that she is beautiful and he loves her. Lately it is more like every hour. I don't think he has ever said or even thought a negative thing about her in his life. He is such a good person!!
