Cousins

We were able to get the cousins together for a picture at the park. Shaylee doesn't get down here very often so it was fun for the kids to play with her.

Maycie and Kayla swinging with matching shirts. We didn't even plan this or know they both had that shirt.

We went to dinner the other night and the hostess said, "Five?" I was looking around wondering how she was getting 5 until I realized we are a family of 5. It is something I am still getting used to. So here is our THREE kids. :)

Branson's favorite - climbing trees

AJ usually doesn't dress up quite this nice for the park but we were going here right after a viewing.

Our great big guy!!

Jerik is growing fast and changing so much. There are more and more happy days. Maybe because he sleeps so good. Last night was 9 1/2 hours. We just need to re-train the rest of the family to sleep all of the way through the night. We are loving his cute smile and when he talks to us. He is such a sweet little guy.

Branson loves playing with him and helps me so much. Jerik always looks around when Branson talks and smiles at him.

Posing for the camera.

The best smile ever!!!

Jerik at 5 weeks

So this little Jerik man is kind of a stinker himself. There have become many days that he is fussy. Who knows why? Maybe because the sun is shining? What is weird is that he sleeps AWESOME at night. Last night he went down at 8:30 and woke up at 4:30 (8 hours) for the first time. But thank the heavens he isn't fussy all night or I really wouldn't be able to function!!!

Here is how he was sleeping one afternoon for a short little nap. It was kind of the way I was feeling after a night that I hardly got any sleep - maybe 2 1/2 hours total (thanks to 3 kids that took turns being up each hour and a cute husband that started his loud truck in the garage at 3:45 a.m. to go to work.)

Here is the cute cry face that the boy can make.

I snapped this picture in between the yells.

Love this little angel!!!

One peaceful little guy that loves to be swaddled!

Maycie was on one this morning. She kept being a stinker and hiding things. She hid Branson's game cube controller when he ran to go make his bed. Then, I was doing Branson's hair and I saw out of the corner of my eye that she grabbed my make-up bag and took off running. I followed her and thought she went to her room, then checked the kitchen to find her there. I made it to her within 15 seconds and this is what she already had done.

BIG GIRL!!!

I decided that I wanted Maycie to choose when to get her ears pierced. When she was old enough, and asked, we'd do it. Well the last month or so she has been more interested in earrings and has asked if she could have them. I think it all started when she noticed Grandma Sue's pretty earrings. We said she could if she wanted to. We explained to her that it will hurt a little bit and she wouldn't be able to take them out again. Well today she kept talking about it. I would drop the subject, and she'd bring it back up 30 minutes later. So we did it!!! She was telling everyone, "I am getting my ears peered."

They gave her this bear to hold and she was very excited. We just watched an 11-year-old girl get hers done with no tears.

Getting nervous while they marked the holes with a marker.

The very second they stuck them in...

Reaching for Mom with big alligator tears.

Couldn't stop crying....

I was trying to get her to show off her pretty earrings but she couldn't get that bottom lip to go back in.... Maybe because she has a fat lip from falling off the bench at church the day before.

She got to call and tell Grandma Sue that she now has pretty earrings!!!

1 month

Our big boy is 1 month now. He is growing so fast. He recognizes all of our voices and tries to follow the sound. There has even been a couple of times that he has smiled while we were talking to him. He likes to be fussy for a couple of days and then a happy baby for a couple of days. But he is still the BEST baby during the night. He goes between 6-8 hours, eats, and goes back down for another 5. It makes the fussy days not seem so bad.

The best things in life!

How can you not smile after a sleepless night when you wake up to this? Too bad I can't ever get a sleeping picture of Branson because he's up at 6:00am!

2-3 weeks

Baby Jerik is still doing great and we are loving every minute of him. He has had moments where he doesn't sleep good for a couple of days but then is back to himself. I love those happy days!!! At his 2 week check-up, he weighed 9lbs. 14oz. The Dr. said he is doing great and gaining more than the average baby does. Which means I better start working out my arms now. :) He is also becoming a very noisy sleeper and grunts like crazy all night long. I think he'll start sleeping in Branson's room tonight!

Maycie & baby Jerik

Maycie loves her baby brother. She doesn't hold him as often as I thought she would want to. I think it makes her a little nervous. She is such a good helper to get diapers, throw stuff away, and even helps with all the laundry!! When Jerik cries, it kind of scares her and she jumps back. The way Maycie says Baby Jerik is priceless. I love it!

Branson's buddy

Branson is seriously in love with his brother. When I was pregnant, he would say almost everyday that he hoped the baby would come that day. Now that Jerik is here, Branson can't stand to be away from him. He loves to hold him, kiss him, read books to him, etc. He is SUCH a good helper with getting me a diaper or putting his binky in his mouth when I am in the middle of something. Yesterday Branson said, "Mom, if he's sad, just put his binky in his mouth like this and say sssshhhhh." Thanks for your help Branson!
