Birthday party!

So Sunday was my birthday so we had a little "party" as Branson refers to it. All morning he kept saying, "We need to call the kids so they can come over for your party." It's a little different having a birthday on Sunday. Since we couldn't go out to dinner, I cooked my own birthday dinner! It's ok though, I made lasagna. YUMMY!! We did go out Saturday night. Anyway, it was a great day and I was spoiled. Lots of birthday money, Time out for women DVD, a book, a new food chopper, jeans, shoes, bracelet, and a few shirts. SPOILED!! After we ate dinner with my Dad & April, Branson and grandpa did a little bull riding. Then we had ice cream cones. Thanks for another special birthday!

We went to our friend's house (The Limb's) for dinner last night. They had Santa come to their complex so we ran down. My kids were both nervous about it but they didn't cry! Branson keeps telling Santa he wants shoes for Christmas. So cute!!

I can hardly say the words but yes, Maycie had her first haircut today. I've been debating the last couple of weeks if I should even out the back a little. She hasn't had a haircut in her lifetime so it was a little mullet looking. It really looks cute but it was sad to cross this milestone. Oh she's a cute girl. And notice how I got her to sit still.... Little Einsteins... Thank goodness for them!

AJ update.

So I think the hives are done spreading but aren't going away yet. They are kind of turning dark and pupleish. Really weird. We have no idea what they are from, and hope they don't come back after this first treatment. We'll see... Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers. I know a lot of people are concerned and we appreciate it. AJ got a blessing yesterday and his name was put in the Temple. We have a great ward, friends and family! :)

Allergic reaction??

So Tuesday night AJ had a fever, he took Tylenol and it went away. Wednesday morning he felt fine and went to work. He came home after a few hours because he felt weak and he had a rash on his arms and knees that were itching really bad. Then after a couple of hours it has started spreading up and down his arms and legs. Then it was on his back and stomach. He slept for a little while but when he woke up he was itching so bad and wanted to go in to the Dr. So at about 4:00 Dr. Cain told him he came into contact with something and was having an allergic reaction to it. He gave him something yesterday and said if it doesn't work take this other thing... The other thing is a steroid that is freaking me out. BUT... this morning his entire body is worse so we have no choice but to have him take them. These pictures don't do it justice. Every square inch is covered in these hives. These are the only pictures I could talk him into. And they are now spreading to his hands, feet, face, etc. It is seriously so sad. Poor AJ!!

Happy Halloween!

My kids both had so much fun this year dressing up and running around getting candy. Maycie even got mad if she didn't get candy because Branson ran and got it too fast without her. Grandma and Grandpa Ashcroft came over and brought some fruit leathers before we went out for trick or treating.

FHE - pumpkin carving

Our pumpkin carving was interesting this year. Branson didn't want to touch the goop inside and Maycie was all over it. She was helping me pull out all the seeds for roasting. Once that was over, her favorite thing was to carry everyone's lid around eating it.

I thought I'd share these cute pictures with everyone just because they are cute!

Here is Branson getting excited for Halloween and to be able to wear his pirate costume.

So sad!

Last night Maycie and Branson were playing in their wagon. Branson fell on Maycie and she landed on the edge of the wagon right on her eye. Oh it breaks my heart seeing her poor eye. When I first picked her up, her top eyelid was stuck in the bottom eyelid and she couldn't open her eye. She also had about 10 eyelashes on her face that had come out. This first picture was last night after her bath.

Here she is this morning eating breakfast. She can't even open her eye all the way.

Here you can kind of see the chunck where her eyelashes are missing. Oh it's so sad and breaks my heart.

What are the odds?

So I just have to tell this story because it is crazy. This morning AJ was out doing lawns. He called me about half way through and said his truck wouldn't start. I told him I'd get the kids ready and come pick him up, switch the trailer to my car, and at least he could finish his lawns. So I got in the car and MY CAR WOULDN'T START. Seriously, what are the odds?? So we got ahold of my wonderful dad and he headed over to help AJ while I got the Pathfinder to the Nissan dealership. After many hours of my dad and AJ working on his truck and me about a nervous/emotional breakdown, we figured it out. BOTH batteries were dead. The good news... my car was under warranty so that was covered; We had just got a new battery in AJ's truck 3 years ago so they pro-rated it and we only had to pay $25 for his. YAY!! Thank HEAVENS!!! But really what are the odds? All we can say is thank you, thank you, thank you dad!! WE love you SO much and don't know what we would do without you. You're the BEST! So smart, so patient, so helpful, so nice. :)

More milestones

So Tuesday I decided to see if Maycie's hair would go in a pony-tail... and it did!! I can't believe my big girl. Then on Wednesday we left Maycie with someone else for the first time!!! We did a switch with our friends so we could go to the Temple and watch each other's kids. It was REALLY hard to leave Maycie because we never have her whole life, even for 5 minutes. She was fine though. I was thinking about her A LOT. Another thing she has been doing... After she has a turn brushing her teeth, she walks over and puts her toothbrush back in the drawer all by herself. She has been doing that and so many big girl things. I can't believe how smart she is and how she picks up on a new thing right away.

Last weekend we drove up to Kolob to have a picnic with our friends. We were able to listen to conference on the way up. It was a little cold, but a lot of fun. We got this group picture that actually turned out with all our squirmy bodies. Thanks for the invite guys!

High school reunion... sort of. :)

My friend I went to school with was visiting from Florida so she got a bunch of people together at her mom's house. It was SOO Much fun. Branson still talks about it and wants to have another "big people party." I didn't bring my camera so I don't have many pictures but it was a lot of fun. Way beautiful home at The Ledges and a way fun time with everyone and their families. Here is a picture of some of us... some had already left. I wish I had a scanner to scan in our friend picture we had taken in 9th grade. Crazy how much we changed. And crazy how much fun I had considering I hated high school. Well no, hated is an understatement, I still have nightmares of being there. I LOVED my friends and loved that part but just hated all the other stuff that came along with school. And that would be why I graduated a year early. Whew...

Pretty girl!

Just had to post these pictures of our pretty, pretty girl!!

Branson and AJ went camping on a ward camp out last night. They had so much fun. Branson said his favorite part was fishing. I think AJ tied a rope to a stick and that was his fishing. I'm glad they had fun. We have such an awesome ward. Maycie and I opted out because I knew she would want to be all over the place because of her age but isn't walkig perfect yet. So we had a girl's night out with my friend Amy and her baby.

My baby's first birthday

We're having a lot of milestones in just a few days and I don't think I'm ready for it. My little Maycie girl is ONE!!! I just can't believe how fast time flies. I can't believe I was just getting home from the hospital one year ago from now. CRAZY! While we were out of town she took a couple of steps on her own and a few times today she has taken a few steps. Big girl!! She is so fun and people are always stopping me at the store to tell me how cute she is. Everyone loves her big girl pig-tails. :) Anyway, we've loved every minute of life with this sweet girl that was sent to our home. We are forever grateful for the joy she brings to our family.

Branson's first day of school

I can't believe my little boy is leaving me already to go to school. I know it is a good thing but it's still hard. I think we've left him 5 times in his whole life (besides nursery) so it's a little different for me to have him gone. Branson looked so cute for his first day and was very excited! We have such cute kids in our little group so it will be great!

The Good, Bad, And The Ugly!!

So the GOOD is that we went up North for almost a week to see our family. We stayed the first night at my Grandma and Grandpa's house. My sister Danielle and her little boy Warren came down from Idaho and spent the evening with us. We had a water balloon fight and the boys played "fetch" with the ball.

The next day we all went to see my Grandpa Halversen that just had heart surgery and is doing great!

Afterwards we all went to Jake's Over The Top to get a yummy shake!

One of Branson's favorite things to do what ride my cousin David's jeep. He could have done that the whole time!

Friday we went to the rodeo. Both kids LOVED every minute of that rodeo.

The pictures turned out AWFUL but here is the beginning with the flag. It makes me SOO emotional. I love that part!

Branson's bull buckin'!

His face the whole time!

So now for the BAD... A couple hours after we got home, I found that there were hundreds of ants that had taken over our pantry. They were in brownie mix, muffin mix, oatmeal, cream of white, raisins, peanut butter, crackers, etc. Everything was sealed shut but they got in EVERYTHING. We cleaned our pantry out for about 3 hours and threw half of our food away. Oh it makes me so mad those dang ants!!

So now for the UGLY... The first day there, I cut myself shaving my legs. Don't ask me how I did it, because I don't know. But this picture is after 5 days of it healing. It is STILL hurting. My cousin reminded me not to use a vegetable peeler next time! I'll remember that.
